I dare say you've probably heard of Google BERT , but are you clear on what this update is all about?

It is more than likely that you are aware of what SEO will bring us in the near future and what has been the most notable to date, so talking about BERT seems like a necessity.

Types of Google updates
First of all, let's do a quick review of the types of updates that Google has philippine area code accustomed us to.

Broadly speaking, we could say that there are three types:

1.- Updating the positioning factors
For example, “ Mobilegeddon ”, which improved the mobile positioning of those websites that were responsive or adapted to mobile devices.

2.- Penalty for non-compliance with guidelines
For example, Panda and Penguin, which will drop you in the rankings if you don't comply with Google's guidelines.

3.- Change in search results
Such as the case of BERT or the Rankbrain algorithm , which are based on better understanding user searches in order to offer more precise results.

Before 2015, most Google updates were of the first two types, that is, there was an update and SEOs had to adapt the website to the new rules of the game.

Since then, with the arrival of RankBrain, we have seen many more updates than ever before, most of which are based on trying to further refine the results.

And in this type of update there is nothing special that SEOs can do beyond continuing to optimize the website so that it better responds to the user's search intent.

BERT is an update of this type, that is, its main objective is to understand as accurately as possible what we humans mean when we search for something on Google or when we do a voice search .

In this article, we'll take a closer look at BERT to understand how it works and what this change actually entails.
