Give time for volunteering to mature

Based on our experience supporting companies, I would like to recommend 12 keys to good corporate volunteering:

1. Management Definitions
That the decision to implement a corporate volunteering program is a definition of senior management, indicating in advance their willingness to donate working hours, amount of money and/or non-monetary resources to this plan.

2. Internal Diagnosis

Research should be carried out on which issues are most sensitive to employees, as well as their willingness to volunteer (time, motivation and ability). We must begin with this diagnosis within the company.

3. Needs assessment

Knowing what the chosen community, institution or topic needs. This is the key to the connection: that the workers themselves participate in this stage of the plan and that someone acts as a representative of the community's needs.

4. Volunteer Training

Volunteers should be encouraged to know what is expected of them and to take charge of their fears and expectations before undertaking volunteer work.

Employees should be involved for a minimum period of time to reach maturity in their contribution. This way they can really connect and propose creative improvements for the community.

6. Volunteer Rotation

Rotate workers over the years to renew volunteers' energy, creativity and motivation.

7. Voluntary Internal Committee

That there be a VC Committee, an internal organization that is also voluntary, managing and motivating its colleagues.

8. Recognition of leadership

Highlight outstanding cases once a year. Every volunteer deserves thanks and recognition from their peers and leaders. Management and senior leadership should be actively involved in motivating volunteers.

9. Internal Communication

Strengthen internal communication, which is an essential ally and a support factor to achieve greater participation and generate tools that allow us to understand the interests and motivations of future volunteers.

10. Reflection enhances impact

They should reflect on their actions from time to time. Each mobile number philippines volunteer contributes much more than just their specific work; they contribute with their emotions and their intelligence. Good reflection enhances the results both in the community and in the company.

11. Volunteering is without obligation

All these activities must always be voluntary; that is, the company can never force its employees to participate in an activity of this type if they do not want to, since the objective is to promote a culture of collaboration, raise awareness of the social needs of the environment and put solidarity into practice.

12. Always measure results

We must measure the results with the seriousness that any other company activity deserves. Include in this measurement the satisfaction of the beneficiaries, who will always be grateful, in order to improve the service provided and achieve a significant contribution to the community. We must also measure the qualitative aspects, which really express the richness of the action at a personal and group level. The results must be communicated to the entire organization and to the beneficiaries. This generates greater commitment and strengthens the initial connection of everyone working for a greater good.

If, after listening to these tips, you are thinking about promoting a volunteer program in your company, CONGRATULATIONS! It is a great first step to start connecting your community of workers with the external community, and thus work together for a better country.
