For a while, videos in Facebook's News Feed on mobile played without sound by default. Users then had to tap the video clip to hear the soundtrack. But that's all over now. In February, Facebook decided that all videos would automatically play with sound on mobile devices, as long as the volume was turned up on the device. This change has been gradually rolled out since Facebook's announcement.

When autoplay was set to mute by default, 85% of videos were watched without sound. It's unclear how the change to muted playback will affect this figure, but it's clear that users can't always turn on the sound.

Users can mute all video playback in Facebook's settings. And while many el salvador phone number data non-social media newspapers and magazines, including LCI , Numerama , and even Cosmopolitan, are publishing articles explaining how to mute videos, it's safe to say many people will continue to watch videos in their news feed in silence.

How to do it then?

If you want to mute your Facebook News Feed, simply go to Settings and move the slider to Off under News Feed videos play with sound . Or, simply mute your phone. Anyone whose phones are muted will also see the videos without sound.

By creating videos that work equally well with or without sound, you give the viewer the choice to interact with your video however they want. This allows your message to resonate with the viewer, whether they've heard it in person or not.
