In order to be authorized for residence, whether temporary or long-term, the foreigner must meet a series of requirements :
Not be a citizen of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, nor have relatives in these countries.
Be legally in Spanish territory.
No criminal record in Spain or your country of origin.
Not being prohibited from entering Spain or other countries with which there is an agreement.
Not being within the 3-year commitment period not to return to Spain assumed by usa number list foreigners who at some point decide to return to their countries of origin within the voluntary return program.
Procedure for requesting permission
The following documentation must be provided :
Completed and signed application form.
Complete copy of passport, travel document or registration card.
Documentation proving your continued residence in Spain for a minimum of 2 years.
Criminal record certificate.
Documentation proving employment relationships.
The application must be submitted along with the rest of the documentation to the Immigration Office of the province where the foreigner resides at that time. The documents must be translated into Spanish and a fee must be paid .
The Administration will have a period of 3 months to decide and issue the residence permit. After 3 months without any communication, it will be understood as negative silence, that is, the application has been rejected. The next step would be to file a claim in Court.
This residence permit is valid for one year , and an extension can be requested at the end of the year.
