So, you've been tasked with designing a package...

1. Failure to comply with the brief.

How to design packaging correctly? Should you focus on the brief filled out by the client? Many people look at the brief only to remember the client's name or look at the fee. Creative people are tempted to get distracted by some details of the brief that seem boring and insignificant, and then hope that one way or another the client will forget about them too. Unfortunately, this happens extremely rarely. After all, the client, like an all-seeing eye, watches your every step.

This usually leads to unpleasant consequences, when you have to go back a few steps and redo the entire packaging design from scratch. And all the work you did before is not worth a dime, even if it is based on the most brilliant idea that has ever visited you. And most importantly, you lose the client's trust, which certainly harms the business and in the future it will be much more difficult to build a relationship with this client, since subconsciously he is already disappointed in you as a professional.

2. Incorrect approach to creating packaging design.
Some designers give up the minute they start working on a project. "Ugh, this is going to be such a mess... the client insists on this, that, and it has to have this, that..." etc.

If you start working with the idea that the design is destined to become uninteresting and you will be ashamed to hand in such a layout, then this project is doomed from the very beginning. Some of the works that have collected numerous prizes in competitions were obtained from briefs with very strict restrictions. On the contrary, each restriction is a way to show your creativity and resourcefulness of the designer's malaysia mobile number list thought. Go for it!

3. Grabbing the mouse.
You decided to go the right way to make a packaging design: carefully studied the brief, tuned in to creativity, thoughts boil in your head, you run to the computer...
Technical progress gives us an insane number of perfect tools to digitize the flight of your thoughts. And this is the worst thing you can do. In fact, sketches were and remain the shortest path for an idea from your head to paper. And it does not matter how cool you are in graphic editors. Sketches should be raw: minimum detail, quickly scribbled what came to mind so that the idea can be read.

4. Follow the lead of public opinion.
There is a persistent opinion that packaging design should comply with the norms and standards established by who knows who in its category of goods. For example, if we start developing a design for fruit juice packaging, then in this product category it is considered normal to depict a large picture of a fruit. I beg you, this is predictable and boring! Challenge this stereotype without going beyond the genre of product design.
Or you know that you must adhere to certain rules, be in a certain format, try to go against all stereotypes. Although this may not always be appropriate, it can sometimes lead you to unexpected solutions.
